Philosophy
Each Gryphon Audio Design product is created with a single purpose: to preserve the integrity of the original musical signal, free from any artificial colorations or alterations.
At Gryphon Audio LA, soundstage and ambience are considered fundamental to the live music experience. Every system is designed to reproduce music with exceptional scale, depth, and realism — so the listener feels fully immersed in the performance.
To achieve this, Gryphon deliberately eliminates non-essential features, focusing purely on what matters most: uncompromised musical truth.

The Gryphon
The Gryphon name and logo draw inspiration from the legendary creature of Greek mythology, combining the power of a lion with the grace of an eagle — symbolizing the forceful elegance of The Gryphon.
Gryphon Audio Designs — The Company
Gryphon Audio Designs, conceived and founded by Flemming E. Rasmussen, fulfills a lifelong dream — to recreate the full depth, emotion, and presence of live music within the home.
The company brings together engineers in electronics, mechanics, and software with seasoned audiophiles, all united by a single goal: reproducing music with uncompromising fidelity. When a subtle adjustment brings the sound closer to the live experience, it is embraced, even if it cannot be fully explained by science.
All Gryphon products are designed and handcrafted in Denmark. Each unit undergoes a 48-hour burn-in, followed by rigorous electronic and audio testing, and concludes with a meticulous listening audition by Gryphon’s expert team. Every step ensures that the music reaches the listener exactly as intended.
Gryphon Audio LA — Our Showrooms
Founded in March 2025 by Joseph Cali, Gryphon Audio LA opened its first international mono-brand showroom at the prestigious Pacific Design Center.
Each of our three distinct showrooms serves as a sanctuary for immersing oneself in the appreciation of music — audio environments where the artistry and engineering of Gryphon Audio come to life. Joseph Cali, a pioneer of the comprehensive Gryphon Audio System concept in the United States, envisioned a space where every product, from the exceptional speaker systems and amplifiers to reference CD/DACs and turntables, could be experienced in its entirety, revealing every nuance, subtlety, and emotional contour of the music.
Each system is meticulously realized using Gryphon Audio interconnects, cables, and Powerzone units, flowing through three dedicated sound rooms. Coupled with an extensive analog library, master tapes, and high-resolution streaming, Gryphon Audio LA offers an unparalleled immersive two-channel experience — a place where music is not only heard, but profoundly felt.

Stepping into the lobby of Gryphon Audio Los Angeles, guests are immediately met with a sense of modern grandeur. The space now centers around Samsung’s The Wall, a monumental MicroLED installation that transforms the entrance into a living canvas of light, texture, and motion. Its seamless, bezel‑free expanse serves as both an architectural statement and a technological showcase — adding to Gryphon’s world of high‑end audio with a breathtaking vision of clarity and scale. The Wall’s vivid, ultra‑pure color and absolute black levels create an atmosphere that feels curated, immersive, and unmistakably luxurious. Paired with the gallery‑like refinement of the space, this new addition elevates the lobby into a true prelude of what awaits inside: a sanctuary where uncompromising design, cutting‑edge innovation, and the art of music converge.

Joseph Cali — Owner / Managing Director
Joseph Cali’s lifelong devotion to music has been as intense as his earlier career in film and television, where he starred in Saturday Night Fever, The Competition, and numerous television roles. Yet it was music — its nuance, emotion, and power — that has always captured his heart.
From the vibrant studios of New York in the 1970s, through collaborations with Christopher Hansen in the 1980s, and the founding of Cello Music and Film in the 1990s, Joseph has been immersed in the world of high-end audio. Working alongside his wife, acclaimed recording artist Lori Lieberman, he experienced firsthand the subtleties of live music — its textures, spatial depth, and emotional resonance.
These experiences shaped his vision: to create systems that don’t just play music, but recreate the feeling of being in the room with the performers. Every note, every phrase, every nuance is rendered with fidelity so profound that the listener is transported into the very heart of the performance.
